  Unhappy being asked to give a Disfellowshipped Sister a ride to and from Meetings

  i'm pimo, very much against disfellowshipping, and going to a meeting leaves me feeling confused and angry at the best of times.

  except an elder asked me on thursday night if i can start giving a ride to a disfellowshipped woman because she lives near me and nobody else from the hall lives in my village.

  it seems the elder and his family who have been giving this woman a ride for the past six months can no longer stomach the time it takes them to go out of their way.. i thought all normal publishers weren't to have any contact with disfellowshipped people?

  jw: didn't we just hear somebody say that the sun's gonna blow up?.

  me: well, they were saying that it will expand and eventually burn out.. jw: but it can't do that, it just keeps blowing up inside and getting more power.. me: well, they were talking about stars in general, how they have a life span.. jw: but god didn't make it that way, it's firmly established to time indefinite.

  it's not like the sun is a regular star.

  A candid admission that JWs themselves realize that for more than a century the WT published and disseminated material unfit for teaching.

  People lives were wasted, used up and too often ruined based on that same bullshit - disgraceful.

  You handled that very well- reasonable, logic and a legally valid concern expressed.

  I record my conversations with JWs then write a letter to them to documenting the conversation. In the letter, quote them exactly and explain exactly what is wrong with their conduct .

  Send the letter to the congregation secretary and demand a reply with their remedy to the situation.

  Dubs are just witless little drones and shunning is their one and only chance to feel powerful. The congregation created the insanity so demand that they fix it. Bury them with paperwork resulting from their vicious hateful policies.

  Shunning looks petty and ridiculous in print (and may even violate a legal agreement)

  The real value of the letter is that it is a document upon which legal action can be pursued and will be viewed as such by the boe.

  It´s actually fun to dump the mess right back in the secretaries lap - good luck

  I once had a young man explain how both murder and suicide can become logical consequences of JWs ¨bible based teachings .

  This boy had gone to the kingdom hall since he was three years old. After puberty in his early teens he began to hear voices. His father was an elder so to avoid consequences to others, this boy said absolutely nothing to anyone.

  He logically concluded that he had demons - a lifetime of bible stories and cult literature served to confirm that fear.

  After school years of alcohol and drugs finally a psychiatric assessment shone light where the bible never will - on depression and schizophrenia.

  The wasted years made it too late for this wonderful kid to be helped - each successive psychotic episode washed away more of his sanity and will to live.

  He confided that he had long contemplated killing his parents and his siblings and then himself as a way to assure his family would qualify for resurrections even though he would not.

  He loved his family despite the damages it inflicted by religion. He died intentionally at 32 years of age. You don´t need to become a JW to have them ruin your life.

  Great news.

  I wonder if the DA office is aware that ALL cases of internal abuse have already had details recorded and shared with Bethel on the S-?? forms (as per WT instructions) ?

  The only way to find out how many, and how damaged their lives were/are would be to demand the files rather than let some lying JWs volunteer damning information.

  The victims could be canvassed by professionals (free from cult influence) to determine what help or actions if any would be appreciated and appropriate.

  Help at last!

  Eulogies

  i recently attended a non jw funeral at a local church.

  during the service, a couple of friends/relatives of the deceased eloquently spoke for a few minutes about the deceased with some of their fond memories and gave heartfelt, respectful tributes.. would i ( a non jw) be given a few minutes to speak at either of my jw parents funerals at the kingdom hall ?.

  i guess i already know the answer, but if the answer is "no", then why not and how would they hide the heartlessness of refusing ?

  ...ah the deplorable scripted JW sendoff ...

  Mom (76) was an Anglican and had recently moved her little business to a new town where she hadn't attended church much in her final two years. I had been a Dub for 14 years with funerals having become just dreary WT self-promotion to a captive audience.

  As Executrix, Sis arranged for the young local vicar to handle Moms funeral.

  That young fellow thoroughly and reverently interviewed Sis to give him a perspective from which he then hand-crafted the finest eulogy I had ever heard!

  He reminded those present of what a fine person had graced our lives. Though small, matronly and quiet, Mom was a force to be reckoned. The vicar mentioned with humour how her humble financial circumstances never deflected her dedication to complete honesty, how her modest education and fascination with history had lead her into the antiques business, and the zeal and integrity with which she bought and sold beautiful wonders from a time when quality, beauty and utility were not mutually exclusive.

  I´ve since marvelled how the young clergyman laboured to give a woman he scarcely knew the respect of having her qualities and history so faithfully remembered before her friends and family.

  Princess Dianas funeral was pretty good ´by comparison, (but Elton John helped). I will be forever grateful to that accommodating, enthusiastic young vicar from a small town.

  PORTUGAL: Filed a petition to the parliament to erase the legal entity of the Jehovah's Witness

  based on legal arguments that revolve around violations of several articles of the portuguese constitution, and of the law of religious freedom, a petition to the portuguese parliament has been set in motion to extinguish the legal entity that represents the jehovah's witness in portugal and remove this community from the national register of recognized religions protected by law.

  the petition does not seek to ban the jehovah's witness as a whole in the country.

  the petition denounces the institutional policy of shunning former members as a violation of basic human rights and psychological torture, and asks the portuguese legislators and judicial authorities to take action to stop this abuse, and suspend legal recognition to the branch office entity until the policies of shunning are changed.

  An Awake! article about 1960 castigated excommunication as wholly unscriptural and unscrupulous - as it was used historically by the clergy to give themselves the power of kings, not shepherds.

  With speedy hypocrisy the Dubs adopted the same ecclesiastic process themselves after the elder arrangement was instituted - giving them the requisite ecclesiastic quorum of yes men to inflict whatever abuses they fancied.( the rack and stoning had been lost to them by legislation thankfully)

  Since then, those shopping for a new religion have had instilled the notion that the ¨cleanliness of the congregations¨ was the objective of such overarching power.

  Now, just like the churches of old, the WT hierarchy sanctions, prescribes and even records the rampant use of excommunication to enforce any issue whatsoever (tight pants, teenage immaturity, dissent, religious opinion, etc. etc. but not child molesters).

  What fails to get instilled in the new fundamentalist is awareness of the psychological damage that results not just to the ostracized but also to the person coerced by their peers into practising a new and vicious act of conformity.

  When a person decides to abandon a religion -even one which practises DFing and institutionalized, systemic shunning - and whether they understood or even practised such an act themselves while a member - it does not disqualify those people from freeing themselves from such a religion, with full protection of freedom of religion legislation.

  The fruits of shunning are all bad - ask any psychologist to elaborate on the guilt, shame and damage to social beings.

  Immigration is not what you think it is...for a reason

  if somebody knocks on your door and wants to enter your home (for whatever reason) you are faced with a decision process based, in part, on your ability to suss out why you do or do not allow entrance.. agreed?example:.

  "i'm being stalked by a madman--please let me hide inside" would be a strong emotional reason.

  Situation D:

  Someone sneaks into your house because the rule makers at YOUR place previously destroyed that persons house .

  Maybe it was OUR history of genocides, slavery, greedy economic and foriegn policies and military bloodlust that have now coalesced the greatest refugee crisis in human history .

  Millions of tons of defoliants, napalm, bombs tanks and missiles etc. have surely contributed to the present mess.

  People tend not to follow the rules of rulers who have stacked the deck for generations.
